Today’s War Horse: The War On Horses By Shane and Sia The Barbi Twins

Horses are as symbolic as the country they built, America. It is a shame we don’t give them the respect they have earned. For centuries, horses shed their blood to give their service to us. It says a lot when a country has better laws for its flag (that doesn’t have a spine or feel pain), then it does for the horses. Horse slaughter and the wild-horse round ups have been the buzz in the media recently. Here are the common questions and facts about horse slaughter and wild horse round-up controversies.

Why is there an uproar about horses being slaughtered or abused more than other livestock animals?

Horses weren’t bred for human consumption; they were bred and domesticated to be companion animals like a dog or cat. They also helped build our country by working the farms, providing transport and even risking their lives in our battles.  In 1971, Congress voted to protect our wild horses with a special a special law.  They tasked the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) with the responsibility.  Sadly, the BLM was the very agency that had been killing the horses they were asked to protect.

Does horse slaughter help our economy?

Actually, American tax dollars are used to support these foreign owned slaughter houses.  We are paying to provide inspections on meat that goes overseas. This is a big government merging with big business for profit. They hide this greed in the disguise of compassion by insisting slaughter is humane. The ringleader of pro-slaughter advocates recites her facts (propaganda) from an inconsistent and inaccurate GAO (Government Accounting Office) report.  Horse slaughter is a good profit business for foreign owned companies, as horsemeat goes for as much as $40/lb.

Common Confusion… If Congress unanimously voted in 1971 for the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) to be the government agency that protects wild horses, then why does the BLM insist on deadly round-ups? They end up harming the horses and not protecting them and all with tax payers’ money?

What tax payers didn’t know is that the BLM is made up of cattlemen, not horse advocates. The BLM was originally behind eradicating the horses.  They have always wanted to replace wild horses with cattle on the horses land. So why did the government put the BLM in charge of “protecting” the wild horses? Profit disguised as compassion once again by our government merging with big business and making a worse monopoly which leaves the tax payers left with the bill! The wild horses are slowly going extinct. There were 2,000,000 in 1900 and today we can only approximate to 20,000 in 10 western states. The cattle and oil rigs are now replacing the horses.

What is inhumane about slaughter and wild horse round-ups?

Both slaughter and wild horse round-ups are blatant animal cruelty. The helicopter round-ups spook the horses so they end up badly injured or trampled to death. Many times pregnant horses abort foals in these stampedes.  The remaining horses usually die from extreme neglect (hunger, thirst, overcrowding) in the inhumane holding pens. Ironically, this was the very excuse the BLM used to round-up the horses in the first place! Then the horses may be “adopted” by 3rd party kill buyers for slaughter even though it is illegal to slaughter a wild horse. The loading and transport of horses is also animal abuse. Any horse expert can tell you it’s harder on a horse than other livestock, whether it’s in the next city or across the border. Transporters stuff the horses in trailers way to small, without water, food or rest. This is pure brutality as many transporters admit.

One thing is for sure, slaughter is slaughter, and whether it’s done on US soil or foreign soil, it is animal abuse and cruelty. Horses brains are further back in the head which makes it harder to find, thus making shooting or killing the horses much more difficult than any other livestock. Horses sometimes have to be shot three to five times and throats slit to prevent screaming. There is proof that while carving into the horses many are still conscious. There is nothing humane about slaughter and it’s impossible to enforce it, as Dr. Temple Grandin, humane slaughter expert, even admitted. There are very few USDA laws to protect the horses and they are rarely enforced. “Humane slaughter” is an oxymoron.

Why should everyone care about horse slaughter bill passing?

For those who don’t care about horses, you should care your taxes are wasted on this, much more than the myth that this creates jobs. For those who were told that horse meat is better for you, they haven’t heard about the toxic warnings, dangerous drugs and medicines used in the horse industry. These are also hidden from the commercial market. Horses were not bred for eating!

What about the unwanted or abandoned horses?

Well just like with dogs and cats, it becomes the owner’s responsibility once we outlaw slaughter. This is a whole different animal issue, which is not solved with animal cruelty of horse slaughter. Moreover, the horse slaughter business only wants healthy horses.  A USDA study said that 92% of slaughter horses are in good condition.  Many victims of horse theft or horse fraud complain they have found that their horses had gone to slaughter. This is because kill buyers seek healthy, young horses in order to sell better quality meat. Many of the so-called abandoned horses were ironically from the horse killers themselves leaving behind the sickly horses at the borders that weren’t good enough for horsemeat.

Who is the blame for the abandoned horses?

The abandoned horses are not the problem; it is only a decoy from the truth. The real problem comes from the breeders and the breeder supporters who encourage incentives for the breeding of as many horses as possible. This is specifically true of Quarter horse breeders who are using artificial insemination. They promote slaughter as a dumping ground which opens a huge window of business for more breeding. By the way, most of the “abandoned” horses are Quarter horses which tell you right there what “their” agenda is!

What can we do?

First of all get the facts straight and don’t buy into the propaganda being spewed by pro-slaughter pitches or the clever BLM claims disguised as facts. Remember the BLM is just cattlemen with an agenda to replace the horses with cattle, gold or an oil pipeline. Then spread this factual information.

Right now there is a perfect “one stop solution” to end this all….a bill before the US Congress that stops all horse slaughter  in the US and stops all transport of American horses for slaughter to any foreign country. This bill is called the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. This bill was originally drafted in 2001 and introduced to Congress in 2002 by the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI), who has led this national effort for ten years. Chris Heyde, from AWI, worked tirelessly on state laws to shut down the three U.S. slaughter houses in 2007; two in Texas and one in Illinois. However, the ultimate goal is passage of a federal bill that will prevent any new plants from opening and will prevent American horses from being shipped to Mexico or Canada for slaughter.

Now the horses need your help. We have the power to end this permanently. All you have to do is call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your Senators and Representative. Then tell them you are pro-horse and urge them to help pass the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act (H.R. 2966 and S. 1176) today! You can find out who your legislators are by visiting AWI’s Compassion Index at www.compassionindex.org.  Even more effective than a call, you can go to your elected officials’ local town hall and urge them to support these bills face to face.  Because this year is election year, your representatives are eager to hear what you want. We have the power with our vote, but also because it is election year. Congress closes early this year, so we have to act quickly. Barbi Twins Media Blog

James Backus – Cat’s Killing Leads To Cohoes, Albany, New York, USA Man’s Arrest

ALBANY, NEW YORK — A Cohoes man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly killed a cat by slamming its head into the sidewalk along South Pearl Street.

James Backus, 44, was charged with aggravated animal cruelty following an investigation that began after officers were told by another person that Backus had just killed a cat near the intersection of South Pearl and State streets, Albany Police spokesman Steven Smith said.

He said Backus allegedly picked up the cat by the tail and struck its head against the concrete four or five times. Backus then placed the cat, which was allegedly lying injured in the road after being hit by a car, in a city garbage can, Smith said.

Backus was arraigned Wednesday in city court and bail was set at $15,000, but a city court judge released Backus on his own recognizance.

Couple Arrested For Animal Cruelty and Child Abuse

Couple Jeff O’Neil and Jennifer Kovacs Arrested For 300 Counts of Animal Cruelty and Child Abuse.

OLDSMAR, Florida USA  – A woman who shared her home with 300 Animals, which the Tampa Bay SPCA took away Sunday 6th January 2013, is reacting to the incident.

Joyce Kovacs said she is glad the Animals are gone.

They belonged to her daughter, Jennifer, and her daughter’s boyfriend, Jeffrey O’Neil, who lived with Joyce.

Jeff O’Neil and Jennifer Kovacs were arrested for Child Abuse and Animal Cruelty.

“I’m kind of devastated, you know. I guess I feel bad for Jennifer and Jeff that they’re sitting in jail, and yet they brought this all on themselves,” said Joyce.

Animals — including snakes, lizards, and rats — were taken from the home along the 200 block of Lee Street after deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call there about a missing infant.

Joyce said it was the couple’s daughter, who a relative had come and taken away. According to deputies, a family member came to the house, saw the Child was Crying, but couldn’t wake O’Neil. The relative left a note, which Jennifer and O’Neil didn’t see.

That’s when deputies saw all the Animals being held in 88 Cages. They described the home as being in ” Deplorable Conditions.”.

Some Animals were even found ‘Dead’ and ‘Half Eaten by the Other Animals’.

According to Deputies, they were being Bred and Sold without the Proper Licensing and Conditions.

The SPCA Tampa Bay was called and they took all of the 300 Animals.

Joyce said her daughter and O’Neil sold some of the Animals at flea markets or over the Internet, but the breeding got out of control. She added it’s been that way for the past year.

She said she told Jennifer and O’Neil they would have to leave the house soon, just recently. Joyce said she put up with it for so long for the sake of her granddaughter, because the couple had nowhere else to go.

All of the Animals are in the care of Tampa Bay SPCA now.

According to the organisation, they will try to get the owners to sign the Animals over to them. If not, the SPCA will have to file for custody.

Humane Program Working With Juvenile Detention Centre To Stop Animal Cruelty

The Humane Society of Huron Valley is reaching out to at-risk youth to educate them about the proper care of animals and hopefully stop the cycle of Animal Cruelty.

The Humane Society was able to start the program in October thanks to a $44,000 grant from the James A. and Faith Knight Foundation.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley investigates approximately 500 reports of Animal Cruelty each year.

“It is well documented that early Abusers of Animals often go on to engage in Violence and other Antisocial acts,” said Karen Patterson, director of Humane Education.

The Humane Society is hoping to help break the cycle of animal abuse by reaching out to at-risk youth.

Every Sunday Karen Patterson and Alex Ball go to the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They teach the kids there how to Care for Pets and give them an opportunity to interact with one of the Shelter Dogs.

The Program covers topics on Pet Safety, Animal Communication, Caring for Pets at Home, showing Respect and Compassion for Animals and Dog Cruelty.

The Humane Society hopes the program will benefit the troubled youth. “Our goals are to educate, and we want to rehabilitate too,” said Ball.

“We want to show we have Animals here that are always Compassionate. They Don’t Judge, They Don’t see Jumpsuits, and they Want to be loved.”

The kids at the centre love the program. “It’s a nice treat for them,” said Youth Counselor Kevin Lockhart.

The kids have been learning a lot from the program and have enjoyed having the Dogs around.

“It just gives you that warm, cuddly, comforting feeling that you can’t get from a human,” said 14-year-old Unique. “Dogs just have it, they just have that demeanor about them. It helps.”

Man Who Killed and ate A PUPPY

A  Man who KILLED and ATE a PUPPY in Front of Horrified Onlookers, Including a Five-Year-Old Child, Has Been Fined More Than $2500.

Daniel Thomas Adriaens from Fitzroy Crossing appeared in Fitzroy Crossing Magistrate’s Court yesterday before West Kimberley Magistrate Colin Roberts, who had previously described the incident as “abhorrent and shocking“, and the worst case of animal cruelty he had seen.

Adriaens, a chronic solvent sniffer living in a humpy near the Fitzroy River, pleaded guilty in September last year to ill-treating the animal but claimed he had killed it humanely.

The court was told that about 6pm on April 23, 2011, a passerby had heard a puppy yelping near the river and found Adriaens cutting its throat with a knife. By the time police attended, he had gutted and roasted it and cut off its ears, storing one in his backpack.

He told police he had done it because he was “starving hungry”.

Magistrate Roberts fined Adriaens $2500 plus costs for the charge of animal cruelty, and $500 plus costs for a charge regarding a burning permit.

3 Children Torture and Abuse Kittens

Three Watsonville, SANTA CRUZ County, California, USA Children To Face Animal Cruelty Charges In Torture Of Kittens

Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Announced They seek to Charge Three Children, Of Watsonville, California, USA, All Under Ten Years Old To Face Felony Animal Abuse charges in the death of one kitten and the torture of two kittens late last week.

Witness Reports Alleged To Have Seen The Children One As Young As Five Years Old Are Suspected Of Repeatedly Throwing and Slamming One Of  The 6 Week Old Kittens Against A Wall And Hanging The Other Two Kittens By A Rope!

Two Girls and One Boy Aged 5, 7, and 10 were seen by witnesses as they tried to Swing and Strangle Two of the Kittens. The Kitten who was repeated Thrown and Slammed Against The Wall Suffered Brain Damage and Had To Be Euthanised.

It happened in Watsonville Sunday night, where a witness called in the Animal Abuse to Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Investigators.

Two of the Three, Six Week Old Kittens Now Named Patrick and Henry, Pictured Above Survived the Horrendous and Sadistic Attack can’t see right now because of their injuries.

Animal Friends Rescue Project Volunteer Melissa Finley said the Kittens were Swung Around Several Times On A Noose Causing ONE Kitten to get a Severe Eye Infection.

“Because the Ligature was so Tight it Caused a Change in Pressure in the Eye,” said Finley.

Very Sadly, The Third Kitten Was Not So Lucky as the other Two Kittens, Patrick and Henry. It Was Thrown Against a Wall Repeatedly and Had To Be Put Down Because of Too Much Brain Damage.

Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter staff say if a witness hadn’t come forward fast enough, these two kittens may not even be alive right now.

“We want to send a clear message that this is absolutely unacceptable behavior by these children towards these defenseless animals,” said Melanie Sobel.

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter investigators are recommending Felony Animal Cruelty Charges. Something Shelter Manager Melanie Sobel said these children deserve.

“This needs to be addressed right now, because it could escalate into more serious egregious acts of violence against humans or animals. Serial killers; there’s a 100% correlation between all of them having Abusing Animals as Children. It doesn’t mean these Children are going to grow up and be Serial Killers, but all serial killers have abused animals as children,” said Sobel.

An article in PsychologyToday.com contends that childhood animal cruelty is the first warning sign of later delinquency, violence, and criminal behavior. Virtually all violent criminals have had a history of animal cruelty and abuse. Children who abuse animals most commonly are children who have been abused themselves or have witnessed abuse.

As for the survivors, Patrick and Henry they are on the road to recovery and will be ready for adoption in the next 3 to 4 weeks.

“They’re getting more comfortable and more quickly and playing around like that,” said Finley.

One of the Kittens needs to have an Eye Surgery that will cost over a thousand dollars. If you’d like to donate you can visit AnimalFriendsRescue.org.

PETA KILLS MOST ANIMALS AT IT’S HQ

Peta Under Fire Over Claim It Kills Most Animals Left At Its US Headquarters

Peta, the animal rights group for which celebrities like Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford have stripped off, is under fire for putting down animals at its US headquarters.

Peta under fire over claim that it kills most animals left at its US headquarters

Above: PETA Campaigners at Seoul fashion week. The charity is Accused of Being More Interested in Using its ‘ $32 Million ‘ Annual Budget to Fund its Campaigns Against the Fur and Meat Industries than Helping the Cats and Dogs in its own Backyard

Celebrities like Paul McCartneySadie Frost, Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell and Ricky Gervais have backed one of PETA’s Campaigns and other Vociferous Advocates among its 128,000 members and backers in Britain and Europe. Its Headline-Grabbing Stunts have made it One of the World’s Most Formidable Global Lobbyists Against the Exploitation of Animals.

But now PETA  (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) – is, itself on the receiving end of angry words over its ‘Own Treatment of Animals’ after it emerged that PETA, the Organisation Put Down (KILLED) 96 Per Cent of all the Animals Handed into its American Headquarters.

Of 2,216 ANIMALS taken to its Premises in Norfolk, Virginia, USA,  last year, 2,124 were put to sleep (KILLED) – almost SIX PER DAY.

Homes Were Found For Just ‘7’ Animals By PETA.

The High-Profile Charity, Famous for its ” I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur ” Campaigns, has Euthanised (KILLED) more than 20,000 Pets in the Last Decade, According to Figures, it has supplied to Virginia State Officials.

PETA insists that Homes ‘ Could Not Be Found For The Dogs and Cats ‘, usually because they were in such poor health or because they were “Unsocialised” and Aggressive, usually because of bad treatment by their owners.

But PETA, Which Does Not Run its Own ANIMAL Adoption Programme and Does Not Accept Animals into its Care Elsewhere, Admitted to The Sunday Telegraph That ‘ Some Treatable And Adoptable Animals Were Also Among Those KILLED By Lethal Injection ‘.

“We are doing the dirty work that others won’t,” said Daphna Nachminovitch, vice-president for cruelty investigations. “We are proud to be a shelter of last resort that takes in old broken animals and gives them a humane end”.

“America is facing an epidemic of overpopulation. Six to eight million unwanted pets are turned in to shelters each year and half of them have to be euthanised. Our euthanasia programme is no secret.”

“It’s a societal problem. We’re not going to turn our backs on these animals just so that our figures look good. We’re not saying that all the animals we euthanise are suffering from incurable conditions. But overpopulation is a crisis. It’s a matter of actually finding a good home.”

Now Critics of PETA are Accusing it of Being More Interested in Using its $32 Million Annual Budget to Fund its Campaigns Against the Fur and Meat Industries than Helping The Cats And Dogs in its Own Backyard.

“Many people who contribute to Peta’s funds will be very disturbed to learn that their money is going towards killing animals,” said David Martosko, Director of Research at the US-based Centre for Consumer Freedom (CCF).”

“It’s inconceivable that PETA is taking in only the least, last and lost of the Animal Kingdom.”

“The odds that PETA is only receiving unadoptable animals are about the same as me winning the lottery and being struck by lightning on the same day.”

“The reality is that PETA has NO Interest in Trying To Find Homes For Unwanted ANIMALS As They Want To Use Their Money To Fund Their Political Campaigns.”

A spokesman for PETA’s UK and European Headquarters in London said that PETA

Non-Profit making organisation, which is not registered as a charity, raised almost £2 million on this side of the Atlantic last year. It does not attempt to look after animals directly in Europe – or, indeed, in America outside Virginia, where it runs a neutering programme.”

The CCF released the latest PETA’s Euthanasia Figures it had obtained from the State of Virginia. The PETA HQ Centre Receives Funds from Companies involved in every aspect of the food business, from farm to fork, and Peta dismisses its long-term foe as a “front” for industry opponents.

Chrissie Hynde, former lead singer of The Pretenders and a Peta supporter, said: “It’s curious that the meat and tobacco industries, who destroy innumerable human lives with their ‘goods’, and billions of animals producing them, try to incite public outrage by throwing stones at a charity who’s very existence is to promote the welfare of animals and offer to put suffering animals out of their misery.”

But some animal rights activists who support “no kill” policies for abandoned and stray animals are also fiercely critical of Peta’s euthanasia programme.

Dave Shishkoff of the Friends of Animals pressure group claimed that he saw perfectly-healthy looking puppies and kittens killed at Peta when he worked there as an intern in 1991.

“Peta has a perverse definition of euthanasia – one that apparently demands that any animal with the slightest discomfort ought to be killed,” he said.

“The vast majority of the animals Peta kills are far from terminal or suffering from incurable conditions. Peta claims to have a $30 million annual budget, yet cannot find home for about 2,000 cats and dogs each year. Not with $30 million dollars, or millions of members and huge lists of email addresses. Literally an armful of cats and dogs somehow survive Peta’s ‘rescues’ each year.”

Ms Nachminovitch rejected the criticisms. “If people contact us with pets they want to have adopted, we refer them to other agencies,” she said. “The animals that end up with us are the dogs that have lived life on a chain, never been touched by humans, completely unable to socialise, and have terrible injuries.”

As well as the 2,124 animals that were put down, she said that Peta spayed, neutered and treated another 8,000 dogs and cats last year – a key element of its campaign against animal overpopulation.

Peta president Ingrid Newkirk explained the group’s position in a moving blog on the group’s website, entitled “Why we euthanise”, accompanied by pictures revealing the terrible condition of some animals it took in. But in a recent Canadian television interview, when the questioner pushed her on whether Peta euthanised adoptable animals, she acknowledged: “If we get them and cannot find them a home, absolutely.”

Peta has amassed a battery of celebrity supporters, including adoring pet-owners such as the actresses Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Alicia Silverstone and Pamela Anderson. The Sunday Telegraph contacted representatives for all of them about Peta’s policy of euthanising nearly every animal handed in to them, but they either declined to comment or did not respond.

Peta is best-known for its anti-fur campaigns featuring naked models and actors. But it has consistently courted controversy with its uncompromising campaigns.

Germany’s highest court last month ruled that a Peta advertisement comparing animal slaughterhouses to the Holocaust was an offence against human dignity. The campaign had depicted images of factory farms next to Jewish concentration camp inmates and the slogan “Holocaust on your plate”.

Last year, a campaign aimed at children – “Your Mommy Kills Animals” – featured a graphic cartoon image of a woman in pearls and apron ripping apart a rabbit with a knife for fur. And eyebrows were raised when the group urged Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to replace cow’s milk with human breast milk in their products.

Patrick Holden, director of UK organic farming body the Soil Association, said: “The difficulty for Peta is that where animals are kept as pets or farm animals, their eventual death is inevitable.

“The moral question for society is whether we have a right to take the life of animals. Some say we do not, and I respect that, but we have a different position: if an animal life is taken, we have an obligation to respect and look after the animal during its life to the highest standards.

“Perhaps this is an example of how, in the real world, it is impossible to escape the responsibility that one sometimes has to take the life of an animal. There is an apparent contradiction in Peta’s philosophy.”

Fur Farms in China

A Horrific and Shocking Look Inside Chinese Fur Farms

Animals Skinned Alive

When undercover investigators made their way onto Chinese fur farms,

they found that many animals are still alive and struggling desperately when workers flip them onto their backs or hang them up by their legs or tails to skin them.

When workers on these farms begin to

cut the skin and fur from an animal’s leg, the free limbs kick and writhe. Workers stomp on the necks and heads of animals who struggle too hard to allow a clean cut.

China Fur Trade Exposed in 60 Seconds

When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals’ heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them.

Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly.

Some of the animals’ hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned.

One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog on the heap of carcasses who had enough strength to lift his bloodied head and stare into the camera.

Before animals are skinned alive

  • The Animals are pulled from their cages and thrown to the ground
  • Workers bludgeon the animals with metal rods or slam them on hard surfaces
  • Causing broken bones and convulsions but not always immediate death.
  • Animals watch helplessly as workers make their way down the row.

Background

Undercover investigators from Swiss Animal Protection/EAST International toured fur farms in China’s Hebei Province, and it quickly became clear why outsiders are banned from visiting. There are no penalties for abusing animals on fur farms in China—farmers canhouse and slaughter animals however they see fit. The investigators found horrors beyond their worst imaginings and concluded,

“Conditions on Chinese fur farms make a mockery of the most elementary animal welfare standards. In their lives and their unspeakable deaths, these animals have been denied even the simplest acts of kindness.”

On these farms, foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals pace and shiver in outdoor wire cages, exposed to driving rain, freezing nights, and, at other times, scorching sun. Mother animals, who are driven crazy from rough handling and intense confinement and have nowhere to hide while giving birth, often kill their babies after delivering litters.

Is There a Skeleton In Your Coset?

The globalization of the fur trade has made it impossible to know where fur products come from. China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States. Even if a fur garment’s label says it was made in a European country, the animals were likely raised and slaughtered elsewhere—possibly on an unregulated Chinese fur farm.

The only way to prevent such unimaginable cruelty is never to wear any fur.

Dogs Slated To Die

After Being Saved From Their Owners, Now They Are Facing Death

One dog was so emaciated that he had to be euthanized – the other, all skeletal, were taken to the Mobile County Animal Shelter.

Though the shelter sent out a plea for foster homes to area residents – only two dogs were rescued.

The others? “No interest”.

Dogs who have spent their entire lives enduring a pitiful existence generated no compassionate interest locally and now, they are facing death.

On Thursday, 8 September 2011, if no rescue steps forward, the surviving dogs – dogs who have never known kindness or compassion – will be killed.

Dogs that were treated so horribly that their owner,  Cheyenne Earl Owens, 44, was sent to jail on 8 counts of animal cruelty.

About The Mobile County Animal Shelter

The Mobile County Animal Shelter is required by the State of Alabama to enforce animal control laws. These laws are designed to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare. They also are intended to minimize the suffering of unwanted animals that have been abandoned and have no source of food or medical care.

Its shelter at 7665 Howell’s Ferry Road provides segregated kennels to accommodate stray dogs on 7-day hold, dogs that are quarantined due to illness or bites, and adoptable dogs. It also provides a separate area for cats.

If Slaughter Houses and Farm Sheds Had Glass Walls

Appalling Cruelty To Chickens, Turkey’s, Pigs, Pigglets, Cattle, Cows, Calfs, Fish and Dolphins.

Sir Paul McCartney Talks About “If Slaughter Houses  Had Glass Walls We Would All Be – Vegetarian”

Paul McCartney narrates and describes the appauling cruelty carried out on Animals on Farms and in Slaughter Houses. These are the Animals we get our meat from and you will find in any Supermarket, Fast Food Outlet or Farm Shop.

It is widely thought by the majority of people that they are happy to eat meat but don’t actually want to see the animal they are going to eat actually being killed.

When you sit down for your meal which includes meat or fish you don’t begin to think, I wonder how this animal was killed. If we did though, we would probably rightly assume, it was killed humanly. So we are all clear, when we say humanly, we mean killed by a human in the most painless way possible. Which should mean in these times, by adhering to working within the stricktists Guidlines that must be in place including clear rules, regulations on Animal Welfare, the technology, facilities and equipment available, be instant and painless.

The Unthinkable Cruelty is Happening To Animals

But let’s say you knew in order to eat what was in front of you an Animal whether it was a Chicken, Turkey, Pig, Cattle, Cow, Fish or Dolphin had been Terribly Beaten, Horrendously Abused, Unbelievable Pain Inflicted, Housed and Transported in Appalling Conditions, Intolerable Acts of Brutality and if all that was not enough to be Tortured and left for Dead at the point of Slaughter (Being Killed in a Slaughter House).

On farms Animals Suffer the most terrible conditions from birth in which they live, are treated and handled. In the Slaughter House Animals prior to Killing are tortured, abused and handled in the most cruel ways imaginable. At the time of Killing, Animals are not Killed Properly and are left for dead, in other words where the Animal should be Dead it is not. It is left with the most unthinkable, appalling and sickening injuries. These same Animals with Heads hanging off, Guts hanging out they are still Alive in Severley Wounded Writhing in Agony. Animals on Hooks that should be stunned are still freely moving around as their throats are cut and left screaming as they Bleed to Death.

Society Turning a Blind Eye To Animal Cruelty!

Why the people that carry out these acts are not behind bars. Why these Farms are not shut down and farmers prosecuted and Abbatoirs closed the Agriculture Departments, Police, Vets and other Workers are turning a blind eye because many people don’t care, don’t want to know or just don’t know.

If you are one of those people, you have now been given a small insight into what really happens to Animals. This Article began with the words glass walls, well if all farms and slaughter houses had glass walls two things would happen. The first,  Animals would not be treated in such unthinkable ways. The second,  we would be, we would all be Vegaterians.

But these places don’t have glass walls and this is your opportunity to see past these walls and face up to what is going on.
